Kim Kardashian Says She'll Take Kanye's Surname When They Get Married

Kris Jenner’s daughter ‘will ditch maiden name after walking down the aisle’. She'll break family tradition.

She may have kept her Kardashian name when she married Kris Humphries and Damon Thomas, but this time the reality star will be ditching it for good.

Kim Kardashian, who got engaged to Kanye West last Monday, has now revealed she won’t be keeping her surname after she gets married and instead will take her fiance’s and daughter’s family name.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has already been making plans with her hubby-to-be and this appears to include a change in name too.

In an interview with E! News, Kim admitted she’ll be changing her name.

“It’ll be Kim Kardashian West,” she said.

Although Kris Jenner can breathe a sigh of relief after her daughter admitted she would be using a double-barrelled name, the new mum has said she wants to take her future husband’s name to unify them as a family.

“With us having our daughter and our relationship has been best friends and we’ve known each other for so long that our relationship has always been amazing,” the yummy mummy continued.

Before her marriage to Kris Humphries in 2011, it was reported Kim wanted to change her surname to Humphries, but was banned by her mother as it may have damaged the Kardashian brand.

In an interview with PopEater.com in 2011, Kris said: “I think she needs to be Kim Kardashian because she’s worked so hard to get where she is.”
