Check Out This Village In Ethiopia Where They Compete To Be Crowned The Fattest Man

While most people are working themselves up to trim down and burn some fat, some people are finding getting fat beautiful. There is a tribe called Hana Mursi in Omo Valley, Ethiopia, where big is definitely beautiful. Ethiopian men compete to be the fattest in the village by drinking a gruesome mixture of cow’s blood and milk while living in isolation for SIX months in preparation for the Ka’el (New Year) celebration which takes place in June. After that, the participants all come forward to show their physiques, they walk around a sacred tree for hours before the fattest man is chosen and a cow killed in an attempt to see what the future holds in its blood and entrails and then the winner is then addressed as a hero for life.
