Passengers Threaten To Take Aero Contractors Airline To Court For Alleged Breach Of Contract

More than 100 passengers abored Aero Contractors flew from Lagos to Enugu in one of their aircraft on Thursday, The passengers were flown there without their luggages. The passengers have now threatened to drag the airline to court for alleged breach of contract.

The airline’s ‘negligence’ made some of the passengers who were to travel to other South Eastern states after arriving the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Thursday afternoon stranded for about 24 hours.

The passengers expressed their disappointment at the attitude of the airline’s staff in Enugu for failing to give any explanation regarding their inability to convey the luggage along with the passengers, stressing that the act was against standard practices by airline operators.

Former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme and former gubernatorial aspirant in Anambra State, Dr. George Okpagu and Justice D. T. Okunobi were among the passengers on board.

Only about ten luggages belonging to Dr. Ekwueme and other Business Class passengers were conveyed by the aircraft while those belonging to those in the Economy Class were left behind in Lagos.

A Public Relations Consultant who spoke with newsmen at the airport when the aggrieved passengers converged to receive their luggage yesterday, Mr. Chido Obidiegwu, said that the passengers were shocked to discover on arrival in Enugu Thursday that Aero Contractors conveyed them without their luggage, a development, he said, imposed severe hardship on the passengers.
